As obstetrician-gynecologists we are trained to care for the medical needs of women of all ages, with a special focus on the female reproductive organs. Our Physicians provide annual health maintenance examinations with emphasis on prevention of disease as well as exams to diagnose and treat women’s health care problems. We are fully trained pelvic surgeons and can perform major and minor surgery of the female reproductive organs. Finally, we provide comprehensive care for the pregnant patient during her pregnancy and post partum period. Whether we are helping you plan a pregnancy, delivering your baby, or helping you through menopause, we are here to provide the highest quality treatment through every stage of your life.
Our Staff
Womancare of Williamsburg has a well qualified staff, trained and willing to assist you with your questions or concerns. Our registered nurses and medical assistants can address your medically-related questions. Our billing specialists are here to help you with your financial and insurance related needs. Our practice administrator is available to assist you with any problems and welcomes your suggestions. Your input is important to us, so please do not hesitate to call. The goal of our staff is to work together as a team to assure that your medical needs are addressed thoroughly in an atmosphere that is supportive and friendly.
Office Hours
Our office hours are from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Wednesday, 9:00am to 5:00pm on Thursday, and 8:00am through 2:00pm on Friday. We see patients by appointment only. We believe your time is valuable and we make every effort to see our patients on time. However, we occasionally run late due to unexpected complications. Please let us know if you do not wish to wait and we will reschedule your appointment.
If you need to cancel your appointment for any reason, please do so at least 24 hours in advance so that someone else can benefit from the appointment slot. Failure to cancel an appointment will result in a $25.00 charge to your account.
Telephone Calls
We welcome and encourage you to call the office at 757-253-5600. Office phones are answered from 8:00am to 4:30 pm Monday through Wednesday, 9:00am to 4:30pm on Thursday, and from 8:00am to 1:30pm on Friday.
After office hours our phone is answered by our answering service. They will refer all emergency calls promptly to the physician on call. The physician will return your call as quickly as possible. However, there are times when the on call physician is busy with another patient and there may be a short delay in answering your call. We ask for your understanding at these times. For an emergency that requires immediate attention, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Please make any requests for prescription refills during normal office hours so that your chart will be available for review.
Fees and Insurance
We believe our fees are fair and competitive. All patients are required to make co-pays at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made with our billing department. For your convenience, we accept cash, check, Visa, and MasterCard as methods of payment.
As a courtesy, we file insurance claims for our patients to the insurance companies we participate with. We accept most major insurances including Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Optima, United Healthcare, Aetna, Virginia Health Network, Private Healthcare Systems, Medicare, and Medicaid among others. We do not participate with Tricare or Healthkeepers at this time.
Please remember that we are only a third party to the agreement made between you and your insurance carrier. Therefore, payment of the bill remains your responsibility. If a financial hardship should arise we will work with you to develop a payment plan that is agreeable to both you and the practice. Please feel free to discuss this with our billing specialists.
